a person who engages in sadomasochism. The term can also be used to describe a person who approaches BDSM as an art form. A person who holds the philosophy that certain acts of dominance, such as using BDSM as a therapeutic tool whilst reaching a certain level of sexual euphoria, can be considered art. Much as some view Japanese Shibari bondage as an art form for its ritualistic approach to the journey of restraining a person, along with its aesthetic value, so too do some believe that sadomasochism, in general, can be seen as an art form when taking the same spiritual approach, along with its aesthetic value.
